How to: Link text on a worksheet to a chart.
Solution:
Insert a text box on the chart and type the reference to the worksheet cell that contains the text.
NOTE: The following procedure assumes that the 'Drawing' toolbar is displayed.
1) Select the desired chart.
a) If the chart is embedded on the worksheet, double-click on the chart. (A striped border with handles appears around the chart.)
b) If the chart is on a separate chart sheet, click the tab for the chart sheet.
2) Click 'Text Box' on the 'Drawing' toolbar. (The pointer changes to a cross sign.)

3) Draw a text box at a desired location on the chart.
a) Place the cross sign where the text should start.
b) Press and hold down the left mouse button.
c) Drag until the text box reaches the desired size and then release the mouse button. (The cursor blinks at the starting point.)
4) Type '=' (the equal sign) in the formula bar, followed by the reference to the worksheet cell that contains the desired text.
EXAMPLE: =SHEET3!$D$2
5) Press ENTER. (The text appears on the text box in the chart.) NOTE: Any changes made to text on the worksheet cell are reflected automatically in the chart title.
